Lisa Christiansen Chosen As Featured VeloGuide Pro

January 02 22:00 2019

Lisa Christiansen was admittedly “gratefully overjoyed” when she was chosen as a featured VeloGuide. “Christiansen who had never ridden a bicycle before 2009 is a natural pro, because of her lack of formal training in her youth there were no bad habits to break” said her coach who remains anonymous. According to her coach she started riding in clipless pedals having never been on platform pedals Lisa took the cycling community by storm meeting seemingly insurmountable obstacles in those desiring her failure, Lisa continues to succeed because of these people.

Christiansen is a CAT3 road racing enthusiast with a passion to ride with cyclists of all ridings. “I am very grateful to be part of the VeloGuide family, I look forward to riding with riders of all cycling abilities because we are all here to learn from each other and serve our community with integrity,” said Christiansen.

Lisa Christiansen loves to ride with other pro cyclists every opportunity she gets such as Lance Armstrong, George Hincapie, Cadel Evans, Christian VandeVelde, and newcomer TJ Eisenhart. Lisa says, “These cyclists are to be respected for more than their cycling skills and wins, they should also be appreciated for their humble kindness, down-to-earth authenticity, and their humanitarian contributions.”

Lisa Christiansen was among 21 riders picked along with other USA Cycling peers to ride the Champs-Élysées in Paris, France; Christiansen went on to ride in Roma, Italy Via Appia Antica.

The Via Appia Antica has seen two thousand years of history, and served as the Roman Empire’s ‘highway’, as it went all the way from Rome down to the heel of Italy’s boot.

Three of Lisa Christiansen’s current favorite rides are:

  • Iron Horse Bicycle Classics, one of America’s “top road biking destinations”. The grueling route climbs 6,700 feet as it summits Coal Bank and Molas passes in the heart of the San Juan Mountains from Durango, Colorado to Silverton, Colorado.
  • Hotter’N Hell 100 in Wichita Falls, Texas.100 MILES IN 100 DEGREES FOR THE 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF WICHITA FALLS. Your skills, training, and resolve will be tested. This is not an ordinary ride. It’s hell. A lot of things are going on during the HHH weekend but there is no way to describe the electrifying experience of the START.
  • The Gran Fondo Hincapie, Gran Fondo Hincapie is a series of events that welcomes riders of every skill level for a weekend of riding and celebration of all things cycling. Join current and past professional cyclists, weekend warriors, and first-time riders on routes planned and tested by George Hincapie himself.

As a chosen “FEATURED VELOGUIDE” Christiansen has come full circle to help others appreciate their current riding level and educate and inspire them to improve their skills to be the strongest rider they are capable of.

My wife and I met Lisa in October 2017 at the Hincapie Gran Fondo, Greenville, SC in the early morning before the race start. She was like a Good Samaritan out of the blue! As it was my first big riding event, she helped me get up to the start line and made me feel relaxed amidst many expert and pro riders. Later, at the post-ride VIP party that evening she chatted with us some more and helped inspire me to continue with my cycling after more than 20 years off of the bike. I am sure her same personality, spirit, and cycling knowledge conveys into all she does as a certified VeloGuide.

Lisa is a wonderful guide, and an asset to cyclists of all skill levels. She is very knowledgeable of the Lawton/Ft Sill Area, as well as the areas of SW Oklahoma and North Texas. As a new rider, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide to help me navigate the realm of cycling. Her experience and knowledge the area’s landmarks/history combine for an amazing experience. Can’t wait to ride with her again!

Christiansen has dominated just about every sportive she entered this year, but her spot on the VeloGuide team is certainly a highlight of the 2018 season as 2019 opens up great expectations for excellence we will be watching the “Tour De Force” 52 year old Lisa Christiansen excel. Even with her late start in her career Lisa Christiansen has proven herself time again to be a winner against all odds!
