The GoL trading card game features a battlefield split into three zones – the players’ zones and the neutral zone. Hexagons designate where cards can be placed, and cards can be stacked to create troops. The field in the middle of each player’s first row is the guardian’s, which is placed horizontally according to the mark. Each player starts the game with three fight moral points. Three equipment cards are placed next to the battlefield. The deck is placed to the player’s right. If characters fall, they rest in the graveyard.
According to GoL creators, the game was modeled and inspired after a number of games such as chess, Heroes Might, and Magic 3. Instead of just offering a traditional gameplay, however, GoL will be available with both in-hand playing cards and a digital format.
The in-hand cards will be high quality and give players the “old-fashioned” gameplay many seek, while the digital format will offer audio and visual effects, profiles with statistics and ranks, and other immersive features. What makes this dual-format model truly dynamic is that it will be interconnected, letting players enjoy GoL virtually anywhere.
The Kickstarter campaign aims to raise just over $285,000. Backers will receive exclusive Kickstarter kits including the GoL deck, a drawstring bag, alternative design, and more.
